We build and run our own platform, here in Norway.
basis.no started in 1999 as a team of SAP consultants. Since then we have become a hosting provider with our own data centre platform, and today we operate business-critical applications for companies that want them run close to home, by people they can talk to.

Our story
Over 25 years we have moved from advising on other people's systems to running them on our own platform. Each step followed what our customers needed.
SAP Basis consultantsBasis Consulting AS was founded as a pure consulting company. We provided technical SAP Basis services: the work that keeps SAP systems installed, running and up to date underneath the business processes.
Our own hosting businessThe market for long-term SAP Basis consultancy was shrinking. At the same time, years inside the SAP operations of many Norwegian companies had shown us how these systems could be run better. So we decided to start hosting them ourselves.
First data centre in operationOur first data centre went live, built on standard hardware and with SAP operations automated as far as possible.
Beyond SAPSAP changed direction with RISE with SAP, its subscription model for SAP-run cloud. We broadened our focus from SAP alone to becoming a platform, and especially a managed platform, for other software as well.
Basis Consulting becomes basis.noWe changed our name from Basis Consulting AS to basis.no AS, to reflect that we are now a platform company, not a consultancy.
A managed platformWe run SAP and a growing range of other applications on the platform we built ourselves, for customers who want an alternative to the large international cloud providers.
How we build
Starting our hosting business from scratch meant we did not have to carry old technology with us. We could design the platform the way we thought it should work.
- We built it ourselves. Data centre setup, platform and operations are designed and run by our own people. We know every layer, which makes problems faster to solve.
- Standard hardware. We use standard, widely available hardware rather than specialised systems, which keeps the platform flexible and cost-efficient.
- Automation first. We automate routine operations as much as possible, so our people can spend their time on the work that needs judgement.
